1. Mask Base
Masked Aadhaar has been invented to keep the Aadhaar card safe. In this, the first 8 digits of your Aadhaar number are not visible and the last four digits will be visible. In Masked Aadhaar, the Aadhaar number is written in this way- XXXX-XXXX-1111. With this, even if the card is lost or stolen, it cannot be misused.
2. Where to use it?
Mask Aadhaar card can be used for E-KYC update and verification. Mask Aadhaar Card only displays the last four digits of your Aadhaar. Users can share their mask Aadhaar for E-KYC at places where it is not necessary to share all the digits of Aadhaar.
3. Password Protected
Mask Aadhaar is password protected. So, you can open the file by entering the first four letters of your name in capital letters and your year of birth in YYYY format.
4. Steps to Download
Step 1: Log on to the official UIDAI website and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option;
Step 2: Select the Aadhaar / VID / Enrollment ID option and tick the Mask Aadhaar option
Step 3: Enter the requested information there and click on the ‘Request OTP’ option
Step 4: An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number
Step 5: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’
Step 6: Now, your mask Aadhar card will be available for download.
