Belfast will host a global tourism conference to commemorate the centenary of the Good Friday Agreement.
The Good Friday Agreement’s 25th anniversary will be celebrated in Belfast next month with an international tourist conference.

Fáilte Feirste Thiar and Féile an Phobail, two tourist organisations in west Belfast, are hosting the “International Peace Tourism Conference” on April 6.
Delegates will talk about how the Good Friday Agreement helped to spur the recent 25-year increase in tourism in Belfast and around the island of Ireland.
According to Harry Connolly of Fáilte Feirste Thiar: “In order to improve people’ well-being, the Good Friday Agreement aimed to forge international alliances and reaffirm commitments to human rights and human rights.
“Through the perspective of tourism, this historic occasion will examine these goals.

Féile an Phobail’s Kevin Gamble added: “West Belfast and the entire city of Belfast have seen incredible growth in visitor numbers in the 35 years since the first Féile and the 25 years since the 1998 peace agreement, which has boosted the local economy and led to the creation of numerous jobs in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
“The Good Friday Agreement cleared the way for this expansion, according to people at the forefront of the tourist boom in Belfast and around Ireland who will be speaking at this conference.
