The “Bad Boys” and another well-known figure are both officially back in town. According to a March 17 rumour from Deadline, Vanessa Hudgens will return to the franchise as Kelly with actors Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Earlier, on January 31, Smith and Lawrence announced via video that a fourth “Bad Boys” movie is in the works with the comment, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”

In 2020, “Bad Boys 4 Life,” the third “Bad Boys” film, was released. For the fourth installment, its directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will also be back. Michael Bay was the director of both the buddy police comedy series’ first film, which debuted in 1995, and its follow-up, “Bad Boys II,” which was released in 2003. Smith and Lawrence portray two Miami Police Department officers who get into numerous mishaps while attempting to investigate crimes in each film.
After Smith slapped Chris Rock onstage at the Oscars in March 2022, development on several of his projects was put on hold, raising doubts about the future of the fourth “Bad Boys” film. Lawrence, though, told Ebony at the time, “We got one more at least,” and denied that the fourth “Bad Boy” was in any danger. Lawrence also touched on the significance of the original “Bad Boys” in the conversation. For two Black actors, two comedy stars, to be able to earn money at the box office, he added, “was significant for us to come together and establish that we can deliver and we can attract people into the theatre.”
In a May 2022 interview with Deadline, Sony CEO Tom Rothman also guaranteed that the fourth “Bad Boys” film was still in development, although slowly. “The movie has been and is still in production. The automobile wasn’t moving, therefore there were no brakes to pump “explained he. “I don’t believe it’s really in my place to remark, but I do want to say that I’ve known Will Smith for a long time and that I know him to be a decent man. That was a really tragic incident that happened. That was an illustration of a really decent individual having a very awful experience in public. Because I believe in forgiveness and redemption, I think his apologies and sorrow are sincere.”
Cast of “Bad Boys 4”
Hudgens will return as Kelly, the weapon specialist, while Smith, Lawrence, and Lawrence, respectively, will reprise their parts as Detective Lieutenants Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. There have not yet been any other cast members confirmed.
Plot of “Bad Boys 4”
The plot of the film is being kept a secret, but it is expected to continue where “Bad Boys 4 Life” left off. The third film’s end credits indicated that Jacob Scipio’s character Armando Aretas, also known as Armando Lowrey, was still alive, suggesting that he would play a significant role in the following one.

It’s still in the early phases, thus “Bad Boys 4 Life” probably won’t be released until 2024 or 2025.
