Selena Gomez: The third season of “Only Murders in the Building” now has an additional, significant clue. On March 21, Selena Gomez posted two photographs of herself wearing a bridal gown, white gloves, and combat boots while presumably on the set of the popular television series. Gomez commented cryptically with the photographs, “I have no caption. A ordinary day at the office.
Her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short appeared in photographs with Gomez in her wedding dress, with Martin tweeting, “Guess what just occurred!”
This is not the first time Gomez has teased her admirers via social media. On January 17, she uploaded a TikTok video featuring her co-stars Martin and Short, along with a very famous face: Meryl Streep. Paul Rudd and Andrea Martin, both returning guest performers, also feature in the video. “We’re on set!” exclaims Gomez. “The gang is back!” She then pans to Rudd, followed by Streep, who asks kindly if everyone needs anything.
Soon after Gomez uploaded her video, Martin posted a snapshot of himself, Streep, Rudd, Short, and Gomez on Twitter. “The production of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 3 has begun!” he wrote. “An ensemble to dream about.”
On March 12, however, Hulu released a short teaser video with a hint regarding Meryl Streep’s role, who appears during a table read for likely one of Oliver’s projects. “Oh my Goodness! It’s me!” Streep laughs when her chance to speak arrives. “Well, my apologies. “It’s me, right?”
The sole fresh addition to “Only Murders in the Building” is not Meryl Streep. Ashley Park has also joined the series for its third season, Deadline reported on February 23. She plays a recurrent part for an aspiring Broadway actress named Kimber. In addition, Deadline reported in October 2022 that Jesse Williams is now a member of the “Murders” group. The “Only Murders in the Building” Twitter handle and Williams, who posted a single detective emoji, corroborated the news.
The second season of “OMITB” concluded on August 23, 2022, and the finale provided the answer to the season three mystery: who killed Ben Glenroy? In the penultimate episode of the season, the programme flashes forward a year and adds another new cast member, Ben, played by Paul Rudd, who dies very immediately. In the third season, fans will see more of the mystery actor before he passed away. Williams has worked on Broadway in real life, most notably in the critically praised production of “Take Me Out.” It is quite likely that he will portray a false Broadway star in season three.
On July 11, 2022, Hulu announced that the blockbuster series has been renewed for a third season, soon after it became one of the most-nominated television programmes at the 2022 Emmys, with an astounding 17 nominations for its first season, including best comedy series. Nathan Lane got the award for finest guest actor in a comedy series.
In a July statement, Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, said, “‘Only Murders in the Building’ is the absolute crown gem of our slate.” “The work of Dan, John, Steve, Marty, and Selena is characterised by and a testament to its cross-generational appeal, intersection of comedy and heart, and totally innovative approach. We are happy to be able to continue delivering Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s experiences to viewers who have repeatedly demonstrated a desire for more of this story.”
Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) race in season two to clear their reputations following the death of Bunny, and it appears that they will be primary suspects in Ben’s murder as well. The new season three mystery also shifts the focus of the story away from the Arconia for the first time.
