Indian Railway: Ordering tea-coffee and meals in train would be cheaper, IRCTC will remove charge soon

The Ministry of Railways has issued a circular prohibiting the collection of a service charge by the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Those who take trains frequently will be pleased to hear this.

Service Charge On Food:

It has been decided that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will no longer be able to collect the Rs 50 that was previously charged for catering. The Indian Railway Board has given IRCTC instruction in this respect. Those who did not purchase the catering option on trains such as the Vande Bharat, Duronto, Rajdhani, and Shatabdi were required to pay an extra Rs 50 for tea.
