Toyota’s Creta-Rival SUV: Toyota Kirloskar Motor can announce its new compact SUV for the Indian market on July 1, 2022. Actually, according to reports, the company has circulated a ‘Block Your Date’ invite in the media. It is expected that the big announcement to be made by the company could be regarding its upcoming compact SUV, which is being built by Suzuki and Toyota as part of their global partnership.
Toyota’s new SUV name
The upcoming compact SUV is expected to be named Toyota Hyryder. This new entry into the compact SUV space will be the first Toyota-badged model. Soon after this, a Maruti Suzuki-badged model will also be seen. It should be noted that just a day after the launch of the new generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Toyota Hyryder is slated to be unveiled.

Could get 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine
It is worth noting that the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, S-Cross, and Toyota Urban Cruiser can be seen in the Hyryder as well. Talking about transmission options, 5-speed manual, and CVT automatic transmission options can be found in the SUV.
Toyota Hyryder’s market competition and price
Once introduced in the Indian market, the Toyota Hyryder will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor. It will be equipped with connected car technology. It will get a touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, heads-up display, 360-degree camera, sunroof, and other features. It is believed that its price can range from 10 to 16 lakh rupees.
