On the occasion of World EV Day 2022, Indian SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra unveiled the Mahindra XUV400, the company’s debut electric SUV. The new Mahindra XUV400, identified by its dual peaks emblem in slick copper finish, will be introduced in a staggered rollout beginning in January 2023.
Mahindra claims that deliveries would start by the end of January 2023, with test drives starting in 16 locations in phase 1. The Indian car company is including chargers in the SUV packages and establishing a rapid charging network throughout the country.

Mahindra XUV400: Available Colors
The SUV has been introduced by Mahindra in two colour choices: Arctic Blue & Napoli Black. Nevertheless, it will come in five colours: Infinity Blue, Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, and Napoli Black, with a dual-tone roof choice in Satin Copper finish.

XUV400 by Mahindra: Design
The Mahindra XUV400 is identical to the Mahindra eXUV300 that was on display at the 2020 Auto Expo. Its dimensions of 4200 mm in length, 2600 mm in wheelbase, and 1821 mm (the widest e-SUV) put it in competition with mid-size SUVs.
Additionally, it has a 378 or 418-litre boot (up to the roof). The XUV400 has high gloss alloy wheels with diamond-cut high-contrast surface treatments and a unique trim accent in a satin copper finish.
XUV400 from Mahindra: Performance
The Mahindra XUV400 is the first electric SUV built in India and has the quickest acceleration in the non-luxury market. It can accelerate from a complete stop to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 150 km/h.
Range Mahindra XUV400
According to Indian driving cycle regulations, a Mahindra XUV400 has a battery range of 456 km (MIDC).
It arrives with a 39.4kW rechargeable battery made of Li-ion cells, and a 50kW DC fast charger needs 50 minutes to charge it to 80% capacity.
For a 0–100% charge using a 7.2 kW/32A outlet, it takes about six hours and 30 minutes, whereas a 3.3 kW/16A residential socket completes the task in 13 hours.
Launch of Mahindra XUV400
The Mahindra XUV400 is scheduled to be released at some point during January 2023, and the company anticipates that deliveries of the vehicle will start toward the month’s conclusion.
A total of sixteen cities would be included in the first phase of the launch: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jaipur, Surat, Nagpur, Trivandrum, Nashik, Chandigarh, and Kochi.
