State Bank of India (SBI) has started its WhatsApp Banking service. One of the largest banks in India announced the launch of the service through an official tweet. Such banking services available on WhatsApp will make life easier for users, mainly as they will not need to download a new app or visit an ATM to check their account balance. All the work will be done with WhatsApp.

SBI wrote on Twitter, ‘Your bank is now on WhatsApp. Know your account balance and view the mini statement on the go. For WhatsApp banking services, users will only need to send ‘Hi’ to the number +919022690226.

Follow these steps to check the SBI Bank account statement:

Step 1: You have to first register your account for SBI WhatsApp banking services.

Step 2: To register for these services, you need to send “SMS WAREG A/c No” to 917208933148 from your 10-digit mobile number registered with the bank.

Step 3: After the registration is complete, send ‘Hi’ to the number +919022690226.

Step 4: Thereafter, you will receive a message stating “Dear Customer, Welcome to SBI WhatsApp Banking Services”!

Select any one of the options given below-

1. Account Balance

2. Mini Statement

3. De-register with WhatsApp Banking

4. You can also type your query to get started.

5: Select the option as per your requirements. To check your account balance type “1”, while to get a mini statement type “2”. Your account balance or mini statement will now be displayed on WhatsApp.

In addition to this, the State Bank of India also provides WhatsApp-based services to its credit card users in the name of SBI Card WhatsApp Connect. This service allows SBI credit card customers to check their account summary, reward points, outstanding balance, make card payments, etc.
