Tata Motors has introduced two new variations of its popular Safari SUV model: the XMS and XMAS. Priced at Rs 17.96 lakh and Rs 19.26 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, are the latest Tata Safari versions. The new versions cost around Rs 1.16 lakh more than the XM and XMA variants. Additional amenities from the top-tier models are also included in the XMAS and XMS, such as a panoramic sunroof and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. In other words, both types will provide a tonne of features. Significantly, vehicles like the Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector compete with the Tata Safari on the market.
They also have features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, Eco, City, and Sport drive modes, four speakers, four tweeters, a reverse parking camera, a driver seat that can be adjusted in height, rain-sensing wipers, electric foldable ORVMs, and auto headlamps. Their structure and engine mechanics remain unchanged. The latest version of the Tata Safari features the same 2.0-liter diesel engine, which produces 168 horsepower and 350 Nm. Both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox are available.
Significantly, Tata is also putting the finishing touches on a refreshed version of its Safari that might be on sale in early 2023. Recently, the new Tata Safari model was seen in testing. The new Safari makeover is reportedly expected to include technologies like a 360-degree camera and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). Larger touchscreen infotainment systems that offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are also a possibility. Its design has also undergone a few minor alterations.
