Also, the mileage of CNG vehicles is higher as compared to their petrol or diesel-powered versions. That is why the market for CNG cars is growing. Tata Motors has already entered this segment with the Tiago and Tigor. Now it is going to expand its CNG portfolio. The company is going to launch the CNG version of Altroz soon. Along with this, the CNG version of the Nexon will be brought. Test mules of both have been seen. Now the Tata Altroz CNG has been seen once again. Its price can be between Rs 7.50 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

The CNG kit used in the Altroz is likely to be similar to that of the Nexon. Both cars have similar engine options. These include 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine and 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine. However, the power and torque outputs of both the cars are different. In addition, the premium hatchback Altroz also gets a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine option, similar to the Tiago and Tigor. The CNG kit could be offered with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the Nexon and Altroz. Altroz can be launched this year.
The power and torque output of the Altroz is likely to drop by around 10 to 15 PS over CNG. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine of the Altroz generates 110 PS of maximum power and 140 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed DCA transmission. At the same time, this engine generates 120 PS and 170 Nm in Nexon. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT. The CNG variants of the Altroz and Nexon can be offered in manual transmission.
