1.When and who built it and why?
Mumtaz Mahal was Jahan’s third and most beloved Begum. After his death in 1632, Shah Jahan started building it in his memory. It is said that his death had a very deep impact. In his memory, Shah Jahan got it built and immortalized his love. Its construction lasted till 1653. If we talk about the base of the Taj Mahal, then its base rests on the wood, which is pushed to the inside of the Yamuna river. It is said that if the water of river Yamuna dries up, the Taj Mahal will also be destroyed.
More than 25 thousand artisans were engaged in making it and it is made of white marble stones. It was given UNESCO World Heritage status in 1986. About 9-10 million tourists visit the Taj Mahal every year. It has been built according to Persian and ancient Mughal tradition. About 1500 elephants used to bring the material which was brought to build the Taj Mahal. It took almost 18 years to make it. Its length is 73 meters. Garden mosque and guest house are also built inside the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is spread over 17 hectares.
2.Where is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal kept?
The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal is placed in the middle of the Taj Mahal and the tomb of Shah Jahan is placed to the south of Mumtaz Mahal. It is said that when the monsoon arrives, the first drop of monsoon falls on their graves.
3.Some interesting things related to Tajmal.
• It is said that after building it, Shah Jahan got the hands of the laborers cut off so that such a building could not be built again in history.
• After building the Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan wanted to build a second Taj Mahal with black stones on its other side but could not do so due to the war with his own son Aurangzeb.
• Friends, it is said that the towers of the Taj Mahal create a mirror-like image.
• It is believed that the Taj Mahal appears in different colors at different times. As it appears light pink in the morning, milky white in the evening and light golden in the night.
• The walls of the Taj Mahal were adorned with precious gems, but during the revolution of 1857, the British caused great damage to it.
4.Controversy related to Taj Mahal.

BJP leader Rajneesh Singh had filed a petition in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court to open the 22 rooms and see if there are idols and Shivling which are symbols of Hinduism.
A Marathi book was written in the 1960s to 70s, titled – Taj Mahal: The True Love Story. Which was written by PN Pok. He believed that the name of Taj Mahal was not actually Taj Mahal but Tejo Mahalaya. And there was a Shiva temple here in 1155 and it is said in this book that Man Singh’s grandson Jai Singh claims to have seen many figures of lotus flower, Ganesha and snake here.
These 22 rooms were last opened and inspected after the Mughal period in 1934 and since then the pictures of those rooms were shared by the ASI. Its main purpose was only that those who were spreading rumours. It should be stopped and any dispute should be prevented from happening.
