Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in their first season, defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final by seven wickets in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 29). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will award the Titans Rs 20 crore in prize money, while the Royals will receive Rs 13 crore.

From the 2023 season forward, the BCCI has announced a significant rise in prize money for IPL champions. “It’s currently being discussed (raising prize money).” From next year, the prize money should be increased by 20-25 percent. However, the number isn’t set in stone yet. A decision should be made before the tournament next year,” a top BCCI official told the InsideSport website.
