Earlier, India restricted South Africa to 278/7 in the second ODI thanks to a superb performance from star pacer Mohammed Siraj, who struck with a tight line and length. Siraj was the preferred Indian bowler because he was the most inexperienced member of the bowling group. When South Africa was trying to gain pace, he made significant advances. His final numbers were 10-1-38-3. Aiden Markram (79 from 89 deliveries) & Reeza Hendricks (74 from 76) stood out as South Africa’s top batsmen. With a 129-run-a-ball partnership, the pair mounted a valiant comeback to take over in the middle overs.
