This year the festival will be celebrated on Purnima Tithi for two days i.e. 11th and 12th August. Due to two days full moon date, there is confusion among people as to which day will be auspicious to celebrate the Rakhi festival and what is the best time to tie Rakshasutra.
When is 11 or 12 Raksha Bandhan-
According to the Hindu calendar, the full moon date of Sawan month will start at 10:38 am on 11th August, which will continue till 07:5 am on 12th August. In such a situation, people are in a dilemma whether the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 11th August or 12th August.According to astrologers, on August 11, due to the shadow of Bhadra period, some people will celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan on August 12.
Know the auspicious time of both days-
On August 11, Bhadrakal is from morning till 08:51 in the night.According to Hindu beliefs, any auspicious work is forbidden after sunset. Therefore sisters can tie Rakhi to their brother neither in Bhadrakal nor at night. That is why some pundits consider it auspicious to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on 12th August. If you are celebrating Raksha Bandhan on 12th August, then tie Rakhi on brother’s wrist before 07:05 in the morning.
