When is 11 or 12 Raksha Bandhan-
According to the Hindu calendar, the full moon date of Sawan month will start at 10:38 am on 11th August, which will continue till 07:5 am on 12th August.In such a situation, people are in a dilemma whether the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 11th August or 12th August.According to astrologers, on August 11, due to the shadow of Bhadra period, some people will celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan on August 12.

On August 11, Bhadrakal is from morning till 08:51 in the night.According to Hindu beliefs, any auspicious work is forbidden after sunset.Therefore sisters can tie Rakhi to their brother neither in Bhadrakal nor at night.That is why some pundits consider it auspicious to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on 12th August.If you are celebrating Raksha Bandhan on 12th August, then tie Rakhi on brother’s wrist before 07:05 in the morning.
Raksha Bandhan auspicious in the Pradosh period
According to astrologers, it will be very auspicious to celebrate Raksha Bandhan during the Pradosh period. Pradosh Kaal i.e. about two and a half hours after sunset is considered very auspicious. Lakshmi Puja is performed during this period on Diwali. Holika and Ravana combustion is also a law to be done during the Pradosh period.
Method of tying rakhi
- According to religious beliefs, while tying Rakhi, the brother’s face should be in the east direction and the sister’s should be in the west direction.
