Nothing Phone 1: This is why Nothing decided to raise the price of the first Nothing phone 1.

Carl Pei’s tech company Nothing has raised the price of its newly released Nothing Phone 1 by Rs 1,000. This means that the base 8GB/128GB model of the Nothing Phone 1 now costs Rs 33,999.

The London-based phone maker says it raised the price of the Nothing Phone 1 because the cost of parts is going up and exchange rates are changing.

The Nothing Phone 1 model with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage also will cost Rs 36,999, while the model with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage can now cost Rs 39,999.

Since its release, the Nothing Phone 1 has been embroiled in a number of controversies, with the most recent involving the smartphone’s promised maximum brightness, which fell short in an actual test. According to a real-world test conducted by a German technology journal called ComputerBase, the Nothing Phone 1 was unable of exceeding a maximum brightness of 700 nits. Previously, the Nothing Phone 1 was promoted as being capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
