According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is considering releasing some iPhone models next year without a SIM card port to promote the use of electronic SIMs.
This means that the 14th generation of iPhones this year will be the final to provide support for physical SIM cards. iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPads with cellular connectivity all feature embedded eSIMs, allowing subscribers to sign up with any network that supports the technology.
To hasten the adoption of eSIMs, Apple is considering releasing some iPhone models next year that lack a SIM card slot.
In place of a real nano-SIM, an electronic SIM (eSIM) can be used to register a cellular service with a given network provider.
Apple, however, is going to eliminate the SIM card slot to free up more internal space for a larger battery. The latest issue of Gurman’s Power On newsletter claims that “This time around, Apple will promote eSIM more heavily, and carriers will get ready to guide customers toward the digital, embedded SIM cards instead of the traditional, physical ones.
In addition, Apple has thought about doing away with the SIM card port entirely beginning with some models this year or next.”
An Apple gadget alleged to be the iPhone 14 was recently seen on the Indian certification portal Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), with the introduction of the Apple iPhone 14 series less than a day away. In any case, the BIS listing does not specify whether or if this is the name of the future “vanilla” iPhone 14. The BIS listing for Apple’s iPhone contains the model number A2882.

On September 7, a week earlier than normal, Apple will conduct the Far Out event, where it will unveil the iPhone 14 series. Tomorrow, we can expect to see the debut of the iPhone 14 series and possibly a slew of new goods from the Cupertino, California-based tech behemoth.
During Apple’s Far Out event, ABP Live will present a live blog covering the unveiling of the iPhone 14 series & a slew of other product announcements, with updates also appearing on our social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook.
Since this is a late-night event for an Indian audience, it would probably last around two hours. This would bring the clock to 12:30 am.
What can we anticipate from the Apple Far Out presentation in terms of new products?
The release of the iPhone 14 is one of the most anticipated product introductions of the year. Apple is expected to end production of the iPhone small this year, and the company’s upcoming iPhone 14 series might include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are rumoured to replace the notch with a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout, marking the biggest change in terms of design.
