If you want to buy a small SUV or hatchback, you should hold off for a while. Maruti Suzuki will add a new choice to the market. Based on its popular Baleno hatchback, the company is about to bring out a new car. The car will look like a cross between a crossover and a coupe. During testing, this vehicle has been seen more than once. People think the company will show off this car in January of next year. Even though it won’t be out until February. The details about this car’s engine have now been made public by the news media.
Autocar India says that this car will come with a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. Let us tell you that the Baleno was the first car the company made with this type of engine. But because of BS6 rules, it had to stop. With the new Baleno Cross, this engine will now be used again. When it was in its old form, this engine made 102 Bhp and 150 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox was hooked up to the engine. The new engine also has about the same amount of power. But it can also have mild hybrid technology added to it to get better gas mileage.
Maruti Suzuki can also offer it with a gasoline engine that draws in the air on its own. It will either have a 1.2-liter DualJet engine like the Baleno, Swift, and DZire, or a 1.5-liter DualJet engine with mild-hybrid technology like the Ertiga and XL6. But it will not have Allgrip AWD technology.
Maruti Suzuki will sell the Baleno Cross along with the regular Baleno. It will be a high-end compact SUV. The Honda WR-V, Nissan Magnate, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, and Tata Punch are some of the high-riding hatchbacks and compact SUVs that the Baleno Cross will compete with on the market.
