A large number of popular SUVs can be found in the Indian auto industry. Though, the top spots can only be held by a few. The top 5 best-selling SUVs in India during September 2022 include some well-known models including the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Tata Nexon. It’s important to note that these SUVs also were among the best-selling SUVs in August. Their constant performance in the marketplace suggests that newer models will have a tough time distinguishing themselves from these established brands.

Brezza, a Suzuki, in 2022
There was finally an update to the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza that brought it in line with current design trends and added desirable amenities for buyers. Brezza, manufactured by an Indian carmaker, was the best-selling SUV in the country in September 2022, selling 15,445 units. The SUV also ranked first in monthly sales in August, selling 15,193 units, only a smidge below the current total.
In the Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon, the country’s second best-selling small SUV, quickly overtook Brezza in sales. Tata Motors, the vehicle’s manufacturer, has even acknowledged the SUV’s role in the company’s increased sales. Why not? The SUV sold 14,518 units, which was only 927 units below the best-selling SUV in its class. The SUV’s high figures in sales can be explained by the wide variety of engines and trim levels available for purchase.
Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta, the South Korean automaker’s best-selling model, follows in the footsteps of the aforementioned SUVs. In India, the SUV shipped 12,866 units in September of 2022. The SUV occupied the same spot a year ago with the sale of 12,577 units the previous month, which is slightly fewer compared to this month’s shipments.
Punch, Tata
The Tata Punch, combined with the Tata Nexon, is one of the SUVs selling well for the Indian manufacturer. The automobile also has a steady track record of sales. As of the end of this month, sales in India stood at 12,251, up from 12,006 the previous month.
Hyundai Venue
When it comes to best-selling SUVs in India, the Hyundai Venue Creta isn’t the only South Korean option. With 11,033 sales in India, the Hyundai Venue also cut. In fact, in India, this model is among the top 10 best-sellers. The SUV has recently been updated with a new look and an N-Line trim level for the Indian market.
