“I would love to come to my second hometown,” De Villiers told VUSport.
“I will be at RCB next year, I am missing it. I don’t know in what capacity, but I’d like to visit my second home that is Chinnaswamy stadium – I am looking forward to it,” said de Villiers, who was recently inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame alongside Chris Gayle of the West Indies.
After scoring 9,577 runs in 228 ODIs, De Villiers became the first South African batsman to make a double century in Tests with a 217-run explosion against India in April 2008. In January of 2018, de Villiers, one of the most devastating hitters in ODIs, set the records for the fastest fifty & the fastest hundred by a batter, with scores of 50 and 100 coming in at 16 and 31 balls, respectively.
He ranks sixth on the list of cricketers with the most runs scored in IPL history, having scored 5,162 runs in 170 innings with the Royal Challengers Bangalore at an average of 38.70 at a strike rate of 151.68.
