Jimin Break all the Records and Become First Korean Artist who Achieve 1 Million view on Solo Album.

On March 24, the BTS member released Face. Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to achieve this feat with album sales after more than a million copies were sold on the first day of release.

Jimin is currently the sixth highest-selling artist overall based on first-day sales, even when K-pop groups are taken into account. Hanteo Chart, a Korean market tracker, reports that on March 24, Face sold 1,021,532 copies. For the first time, a solo album by a Korean musician sold more than a million copies on its opening day.

The record was previously held by South Korean trot singer Lim Young Woong, whose debut solo album, Im Hero, sold 940,624 copies on its first day of release in 2022. The album’s songs have already achieved success. After 10 hours of its release on March 17, the pre-release song “Set Me Free Pt.2” climbed to the #2 spot on iTunes in more than 110 different countries. Jimin was the one who accomplished this achievement the fastest across more than 100 nations.

The album’s lead single, “Like Crazy,” had over 7.9 million Spotify streams after the album’s release. On the streaming giant’s Global Chart history, it therefore exceeded the biggest solo song debut record previously held by “Set Me Free Pt.2” on both filtered and unfiltered streams.
