When the Oppo Watch 3 Series goes on launch in China on August 10, a model may be equipped with a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC.
Despite Qualcomm’s recent announcement of the Snapdragon W5+ smartwatch chips, which are said to be twice as effective and consume half the power as the Wear 4100 OS, Oppo is preparing to launch the Watch 3 in China on August 10, which coincides with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series, according to a new leak.
Oppo hinted at an August launch date for the Oppo Watch 3 Series earlier this month but did not provide a specific date. Digital Chat Station, a well-known leaker, has revealed that the smartwatch will be unveiled on August 10 in China. Oppo’s Watch 3 Series is rumored to feature at least one of the most powerful Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processors on the market.

In addition to the Fossil Gen 6, Skagen Falster 3, and Oppo Watch 2, wearables with the Wear 4100 and 4100+ SoCs have been released.
For smartwatches, Qualcomm recently unveiled two new chips that promise big battery improvements. Both the Snapdragon W5+ (for premium smartwatches) and the Snapdragon W5 (for children and activity trackers) are new wearable chips.
When the new platforms were first unveiled, OEMs such as Oppo and Mobvoi said they would be first to market with smartwatches built on top of them.
For the first time, Qualcomm’s chipsets will no longer be known as Snapdragon Wear. Because they are built on a 4nm process rather than the previous 12nm process, the Snapdragon W5+ and W5 are expected to offer significant battery improvements and increased processing power. Snapdragon W5+ has a 50 percent longer battery life than the previous-generation Snapdragon Wear 4100+, according to the company based in San Diego, California.
