Aamir Khan’s “Laal Singh Chaddha,” which underperformed at the home box office but won over critics and viewers abroad, became the highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2022.
New Delhi: Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, may have bombed in India, but it’s setting box office records in other countries.
The website Bollywood Hungama claims that the movie has become the most financially successful Indian film of the year abroad. It has outsold the likes of “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” “The Kashmir Files,” and “Bhool Bhulaiyya 2.”
The film has earned $7.5 million worldwide, surpassing Gangubai Kathiawadi ($7.47 million), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 ($5.88 million), and The Kashmir Files ($5.7 million).
The Telugu movie “RRR” has made $20 million in foreign markets, but it has yet to make a dent in its financial success.

Laal Singh Chaddha has only been able to earn 56 crore rupees domestically at the movie office. Despite being released during long weekends, the movie failed to draw crowds to theatres.
As a result, the movie ended up being one of Aamir Khan’s biggest failures. It competed at the box office against Akshay Kumar’s “Raksha Bandhan,” but both movies let down the audience.
As a result of a previous statement given by Aamir Khan, the film “Laal Singh Chadddha” was met with significant outrage and demands to boycott it on social media. For several days leading up to the film’s release, the hashtags #boycottAamirKhan and #boycottLaalSinghChaddha were trending on the internet.
The 1994 American film “Forrest Gump,” starring Tom Hanks, was remade in a Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan.
Starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh, among others.
