PMJJBY & PMSBY: Various schemes are being run by the government for the common citizens. You can take advantage of some of these plans by paying a small premium. Two such schemes launched by the central government for the common man are Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
Renewal amount will be auto-debited
Let us tell you that you can take advantage of these plans by paying premium. Every year they are renewed by 31st May. For their renewal, it is necessary to have a sufficient amount in your bank account. This renewal amount is auto-debited from the accounts of the people who have been enrolled in the previous years.
2 lakh cover for Rs 330
Let us tell you that in the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), people between the age group of 18 to 50 years can join. For this, life insurance of Rs 2 lakh is available on payment of Rs 330 per year. Similarly, in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), people between the age of 18 years to 70 years can join. In this, a cover of Rs 2 lakh is available on payment of Rs 12.
The premium of both the plans is Rs 342
Under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), death or disability due to an accident is covered. There is a provision of giving Rs 2 lakh to the insured in case of accidental death and Rs 1 lakh to the insured in case of partial disability. According to this, the annual premium of Rs 342 has to be paid for both the schemes till 31st May.
If you do not have a sufficient balance in your account then you will not be able to get the insurance cover. In this situation, you will be deprived of the insurance cover of Rs 4 lakh.
