The removal of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross from the official NEXA site is a clear sign of the vehicle’s discreet demise in the Indian market. Including this latest addition, NEXA’s lineup currently includes the Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6, and Grand Vitara. After the Grand Vitara’s introduction, it was clear that it would succeed the S-Cross as Maruti Suzuki’s flagship model in India.
It appears that the recently released Grand Vitara has replaced the S-Cross in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup of vehicles in the Indian market.
The original Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was introduced back in 2015. It was designed to compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster and came equipped with 1.6L & 1.3L diesel engines initially. Even though the 1.6L diesel engine was quickly phased out by the manufacturer in 2017. The current generation S-Cross was supplied with a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid gas motor.

After the introduction of the Grand Vitara, it seemed apparent that the S-Cross would be discontinued in India, but an official declaration from Maruti Suzuki on the matter was still anticipated. The corporation, however, has opted to covertly withdraw the crossover model from the sale within the country.
Both a new 1.5L strong-hybrid system and the tried-and-true 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol unit are available for purchase in the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara at retail. The SUV has 4WD, and it’s the only vehicle the manufacturer offers with such a feature.
