In May of this year, the Hindi adaptation of the American series Modern Love, itself based on a column by the same name in The New York Times, made its premiere on the small screen. There will also be Telugu and Tamil adaptations of Modern Love; the former will be called Modern Love Hyderabad and the latter will be called Modern Love Chennai.
Other popular Amazon programs including Paatal Lok, Four More Shots, Please!, and The Family Man are also coming back for new seasons in 2019.
Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar hosted the star-studded event, where the business also debuted its transactional video-on-demand movie rental service in India. Using it, users of the Prime Video app may get their hands on the newest releases to hit theatres.
“Our objective has been to make compelling, honest, and rooted tales that not only connect with people in India but resonate with fans across the world,” explained Aparna Purohit, head of India Originals at Amazon Prime Video. In the future, “we are eager to engage with some of the most prolific creators to bring out great stories across numerous forms, genres, and languages for our clients.”
