* You can access the settings by tapping the menu button (the three vertical dots in the upper right).
* Select Account, and then the bottom option to “Delete account.”
Simply select “Delete account” and then “Continue deleting account” to proceed.

These are the steps you need to do to permanently erase your Instagram account if you use it on a computer:
* Visit the website where you can delete your account. * Please re-enter your password and select a reason from the drop-down box below for why you wish to deactivate your account. Select the Delete account link.
If your old Instagram handle is still available after you delete your account, you can use it to create a new profile or transfer it to a new account.
Take note that after 30 days, your profile and all of your data will be completely erased and cannot be restored.
However, once the deletion process has begun, it may need up to 90 days to finish. In the event of a disaster, software fault, or other data loss incident, Instagram notes that “copies of your content may exist after the 90 days in backup files that we utilise to recover.”
You can also choose to export all of your data from Instagram before deleting your account.
