The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder have excited Indian buyers. Both cars have the best gas mileage of any gasoline-hybrid SUV in the country. These semi-SUVs offer novel features and contemporary style, ticking off every box for a prospective SUV buyer or car buyer. As petrol prices rise and SUV demand rises, automakers are releasing SUVs with fuel estimates of 20 kmpl. These are India’s five most fuel-efficient SUVs.
1. Hyundai Venue: 23.4 km per gallon
The Hyundai Venue, a near relative of the Sonet, arrives with the exact same selection of engines as the Sonet: 1.5L diesel, 1.2L NA petrol, and 1.0L turbo-petrol. With a reported economy of 23.4 kilometres per gallon, the oil burners are the least economical of the bunch.
2. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has the highest fuel economy, with 27.97 km/l.
For those familiar with the Indian auto market, the debut of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara would come as no surprise. The Grand Vitara nameplate was borrowed from the company’s previous flagship SUV, the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, upon which this vehicle is built. The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is said to be the most fuel-efficient SUV in the country because it gets 27.97 km/l.
3. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 3.27.97 km/l
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are technical twins, and both vehicles offer 1.5L mild-and 1.5L strong-hybrid engine choices. The latter sports a mileage rating of 27.97 km/l, the greatest of any SUV in the nation.
4. Kia Sonet: 24.1 miles per gallon
The Kia Sonet, which claims to get 24.1 kilometres per gallon for its diesel models, comes in second on the list of SUVs with the best gas economy. Additionally, a 1.0L turbo-petrol and a 1.2L NA petrol engine are available for the small SUV. The Sonet is the South Korean automaker’s cheapest model on the Indian market right now.
5. Tata Nexon: 21.5 km/liter
Because it was the first automobile produced in India to get a 5-star crash test rating, the Tata Nexon carved out a special place for itself. Interestingly, it is also a fuel-efficient small SUV, with a stick-shift transmission and a stated fuel economy of 21.5 km/l. Another option for the Nexon is a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine.
